The Discover Portsmouth Center is a free information center and gateway to the arts/cultural/historical sites of greater Portsmouth. In addition to the two featured exhibits, panels featuring 20 art/history/culture partners, an exhibit "The Doorways of Portsmouth" and the award-winning film, "Welcome To Historic Portsmouth" are also open to the public.

Sharing space in the Discover Portsmouth Center are the Seacoast African-American Cultural Center (with gallery display) and the Portsmouth Black Heritage Trail, Inc.

    Opening in July:

    "Rescuing Whaleback Lighthouse -- A Wave-Swept Sentinel"

”The Portsmouth Commercial Fishing Industry” -- on its 100th anniversary, Historic New England staff will capture the stories of the hard-working people who make up this fast-disappearing community.

    Opening in August:

    "Bill Paarlberg: Illustrating Portsmouth"

    ”The Art of Richard Haynes”
