The Pastel Society of New Hampshire returns to the Discover Portsmouth Center for its second annual National Juried Show, "It's Pastel!" September 18 through October 30, 2010. Pleased with the response the show received last year at the central arts, culture and history center at the corner of Middle and Islington Street in downtown Portsmouth, NH, the Society has extended the show for an additional two weeks in 2010. The Society hosts a free opening reception with the artists and awards ceremony on Saturday September 18, from 5 to 7 pm. Refreshments will be served, and over $5,000 in awards presented to winners of the juried show. Paintings by pastel artists throughout the state of New Hampshire are included in this exhibition as well as the works of other pastelists across the country. The Show and opening reception are free and open to the public. The Discover Portsmouth Center is open seven days a week, 10 am to 5 pm.
